The Jackpot: Un-contemporary, little comedy, uplifted by megastars. Stewart is the winner of a stereo competition although couldn't pay the levies on the winnings. Cast includes James Stewart, Barbara Hale, James Gleason, Fred Clark, and Natalie Wood. (87 minutes, 1960)

Macabre: Strange goings on in smaIl town where physician's youthful daughter mysteriously disappears and a nameless telephone hailer declares that the kid has been buried alive. Cast includes William Prince, Jim Backus, Christine White, and Jacqueline Scott. (73 minutes, 1958)
Hail Mary: Uninteresting, overblown updating of the tale of Christ's birth, with Mary a student basketball competitor! Even though still a virgin, she finds herself pregnant. This film kindled much dissention and was even condenmed by the Pope. Cast includes Myriem Roussel, Thierry Rode, Philippe Lacoste, Manon Anderson, and Juliette Binoche. (107minutes, 1985)
In for Treatment: Easy, pointed, commanding tale of a middle-aged mam who checks into a clinic for an examination although is seriously dying of cancer. He must handle a remote, maddeningly impersonal health center system. Hard to watch due to the subject, however still poignant and by no means maudlin.
